Hello L&D Listeners!

Today is Friday!!!!! Hope in your plans is headbanging with L&D Radio! Have Fun! This are the Featured bands! Thanks for requesting and for all your support \m/

Hammerfall (SWE) - Added "Infected" album today too and thanks for requesting a Featured band and new album Hell yeah!. Formed in Göteborg, Sweden, in 1993 by guitarist Oscar Dronjak. Early line-ups included members from In Flames and Dark Tranquillity, most notably Jesper Strömblad, who continued to write songs together with Oscar and singer Joacim Cans despite leaving before the first album was released. Glory To The Brave (1997) and Legacy Of Kings (1998) cemented the band as the pioneers of modern Eighties heavy metal. Often credited with bringing back the melodies and honesty in music, the world-wide crusade continued with Renegade (2000), an album that generated a breakthrough for HammerFall and metal music in general in the mainstream media in Sweden. The line-up was now complete with drummer Anders Johansson, formerly of Rising Force fame, Stefan Elmgren on guitar and Magnus Rosén on bass guitar. The latter two joined HF before the release of the inaugural record, with Stefan even being a session player on Glory To The Brave. Crimson Thunder (2002) was next, followed by a live album and DVD – One Crimson Night (2003) – recorded in their home town in front of a capacity crowd. The fifth album, aptly titled Chapter V: Unbent, Unbowed, Unbroken (2005) further planted the name HammerFall in the minds of households in Sweden, as well as metal fans all over the world. The band’s fourth world tour on as many albums was an even bigger success than before, headlining the U.S. for the first time (after supporting Death and Dio in 1998 and 2002 respectively). Threshold (2007) continued that tradition, but the aftermath saw Stefan and Magnus leave the band. Replacements Pontus Norgren (ex-the Poodles) and Fredrik Larsson (ex-Evergrey) brought stability to the instrumental section and No Sacrifice, No Victory (2009) was the first album recorded with this line-up. Another tour of the world followed, this time including India as well as the usual European and North American tours and festivals. The fall of 2010 was spent writing songs and recording them in the band’s own studio,  located in Göteborg. The raw drum, guitar and bass tracks were brought to Nashville, TN, where, under the supervision of producer James Michael, the vocals were recorded. James also handled the mix brilliantly, creating a heavy, traditional yet very contemporary sounding album. Infected (2011) was released in May, and showed a new side of the band, while at the same time leaving no old fans unsatisfied. The single “One More Time” was complemented with a zombie video, showing a modern and mature side of the band, though still keeping the tongue-in-cheek atmosphere that has made HammerFall videos famous. The legend has been reborn, indeed!.

"Power Quest"
Power Quest (UK) - Power Quest Power Quest was conceived in March 2001 by keyboardist Steve Williams after he left London power metal heroes "DragonHeart" (which is now DragonForce) with fellow band mate Steve Scott (ex-Shadowkeep and ex-DragonHeart) taking care of bass duties. 2001: The Demo CD The first, self titled 2 track demo was recorded and uploaded onto early 2001. Recording was supported by ZP and Sam Totman (currently with Dragonforce), along with Adam Bickers on guitars. Wings Of Forever CD In April 2002 vocalist Alessio Garavello was recruited to the Power Quest ranks. In July 2002 Italian guitarist Andrea Martongelli accompanied Alessio to England while he recorded his vocals for "Wings of Forever" and put down a couple of guest solos. The band was impressed with his ability and creativity and offered him the chance to join the line up shortly afterwards. "Wings of Forever" received a brilliant response from fans of melodic and power metal. Neverworld CD In January 2003 drummer Andre Bargmann joined the Quest and at the same time Sam Totman was cutting back his involvement with the band due to his other commitments. "NeverWorld", the follow up to "Wings of Forever", was recorded at Thin Ice in the summer of 2003, with production handled by Karl Groom. The mix was by Pete Coleman. CD Release & Tour With the "Neverworld" album released to critical acclaim in March 2004.The gigs with Threshold in September '04 were a tremendous success with the band gaining a whole group of new fans! November 2004 saw the band play a show with Dream Evil and Labyrinth in London, and then later in the month the band headed back to Thin Ice studios to record three new songs for the third Power Quest opus "Magic Never Dies". Magic Never Dies CD And DVD Francesco Tresca joined the band in February 2005 as the new drummer. The album was released to great critical acclaim with awesome reviews coming in from all quarters.   Touring In November 2005 the band headed out on the road in support of the new album and played six UK shows culminating in appearances at the world famous Marquee Club in London and Firefest II at Nottingham Rock City. Power Quest supported Helloween on the UK leg of their European tour in February 2006 and received a great reaction from the fans! Touring & Napalm Records In February 2007 the band headed to Europe for a three week tour supporting Angra and Firewind. The tour went through France, Italy, Switzerland, Spain and Portugal and was a resounding success! A new recording deal was negotiated with Austrian label Napalm Records and the band hit the studio in October 2007 to record their 4th album. Master Of Illusion Worldwide release of new album "Master of Illusion" in April 2008, which was named the best Power Quest album to date. It received an amazing response and was voted one of the top Power Metal albums in 2008 by various sections of the media. Unfortunately bassist Steve Scott decided to move back to New Zealand and so well known German bass man Oliver Holzwarth (Blind Guardian, Tarja) was recruited as permanent member. The five piece introduced the material on a few UK tours throughout the year, finishing with co-headlining the second stage at Hard Rock Hell Festival in Wales. End Of An Era – Start Of The New Quest After successfully headlining the second stage at Hammerfest in April, vocalist Alessio Garavello decided to quit the Power Metal genre and started what would become a full line-up change. Shortly afterwards, both Andrea and Francesco decided to leave as well. The split was amicable and over the summer, founder Steve Williams hunted high and low to find the right people to continue the Power Quest legacy. This led to the recruitment of Andy Midgley, Paul Finnie and Rich Smith who have become vital cogs in the Power Quest wheel. The old line up did an emotional farewell show on 26th September at Metalfest in Dudley. 2009 ended well for Power Quest, supporting Tarja and later Michael Schenker on their UK tours. Recording of Blood Alliance In 2010 the new line-up was finally completed with the addition of vocalist Chity Somapala (Ex-Firewind, Civilization One) and guitarist Gav Owen, The recording of album #5 "BLOOD ALLIANCE" was completed in October and mixed and mastered in November. The album will be released in January 2011 by Marquee/Avalon in Japan and March 2011 by Napalm Records worldwide.

Keep'n Metal \m/
